A TYPICAL DAY AT CAMP SHALOM

7:45 am Wake up! The Unit Heads go to every cabin to wish them “Boker Tov.”
8:15-8:25 Mifkad.
We gather around the flagpole to hear announcements for the day. We sing O' Canada, pledge of support for Israel and raise the flags.
8:25-9:00 Breakfast.
The dining hall accommodates every one in camp at the same sitting. We say “Hamotzi” before each meal and the “Birkat HaMazon” after.
9:00-9:30 Back to cabins for clean up and preparation for morning activities.
9:30-10:15  First Period Chugim.
Campers enjoy individualized schedules that allow them choose from all of the different activities (chugim). Mandatory periods during the day are instructional swim and a rotation of waterfront activities including water ski, canoe and sail.
10:20-11:05  Second Period Chugim
11:05-11:20  Snack
11:20-12:05  Third Period Chugim
12:30-1:15 pm  Lunch
1:15-2:15  Menucha (rest period).
Time for hanging out with friends, writing letters, listening to music, eating tuck and, for some, even a quick nap!
2:15-3:00  Fourth period chugim
3:05-3:50  Fifth Period Chugim
4:05-4:50  Sixth Period Chugim
4:50-5:40  Free period
Campers have time to pursue their own interests such as intramural sports, play rehearsal, and special cabin programs.
6:00-6:45 Dinner, followed by Unit Cheers & Shira (rousing sing-song in the dining hall)
6:45-7:00 Evening Mifkad.
Unit Heads announce evening programs; the camp sings Hatikvah and lowers the flags.
7:30-8:15  Unit evening programs begin at different times according to the age group of the unit. After the program, the unit heads announce curfew for the night, campers enjoy a snack, and then back to the cabin for washing up.
Lights Out!
