Camp Shalom prides itself on our creative and innovative
programs. With each summer comes the promise of some amazing surprises for the campers, but here is a taste of some marquee events that have become annual affairs.
Inter-Camp Sports
Try out for a sports team that will be part of the Shalom contingent as we travel to another camp for a day of competition. We will also have the opportunity to play host for another camp during the summer.
Senior Carnival
Prizes and surprises all day as the campers in the Seniors unit get to call the shots! The members of our
oldest unit all have a chance to prepare and run carnival style booths for the entire camp to enjoy.
Yom Israel
Once each session, our camp is transformed into a land of milk and honey as an entire day is dedicated to celebrating our
Homeland. Whether it is excavating buried treasures on our beach, reliving the story of Masada or making pita on an open fire, Shalom campers have a chance to experience
facets of the Holy Land without packing a bag!
Maccabiah
Our incredible camp-wide colour war: spanning two days of intense athletic competition, ingenious artistic presentations, and out of this world ruach (spirit). Every year the anticipation for this event grows throughout the summer as the theme and dates of Maccabiah are some of the most closely guarded secrets in camp.
Coffee House
Gotta sing, gotta dance! This is your night to strut your stuff in our camp-wide talent show. Whether belting out a solo
or performing a skit with the entire cabin, campers love to take advantage of their moment in the spotlight.
Socials
Dance the night away to today’s hottest tunes, and maybe even walk away with a cool prize or two. Our dining hall
is transformed into the trendiest of dance clubs for a night, as we welcome professional DJs into our midst. In the past, Camp Shalom has been visited by Superior Sound, Universal, and Magen Boys. Which amazing act will be feature this year? The only way to find out is to be there in person!
Banquet
On the last night of each session, our campers are treated to a very special themed dinner, complete with amazing décor and a one-of-a-kind feast. This night also features our slideshow presentation and awards ceremony for the Chugim to hand out their badges and certificates of accomplishment.
